Judy Dinnick was a Canadian artist who was involved in the decorative arts for many years. She studied at the Ontario College of Art and also in Mexico. She was passionate about Sailors’ Valentines and shell art and was a mentor to many other shell artists. She won numerous awards at the annual Sanibel Shell Show, and was featured in several publications. In executing her exquisitely detailed valentines, she painted the miniature centres herself and incorporated natural coloured shells from all over the world. Judy first became acquainted with Sailors' Valentines while living in the Bahamas where many antique Valentines are held in private collections. She passed away on January 31, 2021 of Covid-19.
